The village of Osteno is to be found in a quiet place on the edge of the Lake Lugano. The village has avoided mass tourism due to a protection of its cultural heritage which has meant that the construction of large holiday complexes is prohibited.
In addition to this, the village is very quiet as it is situated at the end of a cul de sac.
Within the village, there is a small shop and two cafe/ bars. There is a daily service boat to and from Osteno and the nearest town of Porlezza. There are also buses which run between Osteno and Porlezza several times a day (bus stop Osteno Isolabella). In Porlezza, there are several supermarkets to be found, numerous restaurants, bars, boutiques and ice cream parlours, and a pleasant lake side walk.
This wonderful region offers so many possibilities for activities and excursions.
